President’s Message

As our local economy continues to be driven forward by innovative and creative entrepreneurs, Junior Achievement’s role in fostering the next generation of entrepreneurs has never been more critical than it is today. Every year we foster the belief in our youth that they can realize their dreams. That they can dare to take risks and that launching their own business isn’t beyond the realm of possibility.

We made some significant changes to our programs this year to better nurture and develop these young entrepreneurs. We want to see them “take flight” in the real world. Changes included moving the Company Program to new creative spaces like TheMuseum and Conestoga College’s Entrepreneurship Centre. We launched the first ever video commercial competition and created the JA Tech Camp where campers learned how to build a business around a tech-based product.

The businesses, organizations and mentors who are showcased at our annual awards event set a fine example for our Achievers. They all work tirelessly to provide the best product, service or experience for their customers.

If you know a local business or individual that has taken “flight” with their dream and ambition please consider nominating them for a Business Spirit Award and we certainly hope to see you at our exciting event on November 7th.
